We resumed the painting classes in early September after the really hot weather of July and August . Jo Tyson, our tutor arrived on September 1st from New Zealand feeling dreadful after a very long flight and getting food poisoning on the plane . But like most New Zealanders she is very resilient and after a few days rest she bounced back to her normal lively self. She then worked for 12 days straight as we had back to back classes in September . A truly Herculean effort but I know everyone really appreciated her coaching and constant guidance . The results speak for themselves particularly as the majority had not picked up a paint brush since junior school.
Some of our students were kind enough to send us some lovely comments:
“Our class was thoroughly enjoyable, greatly expanded our understanding of techniques and skills and generated much enthusiasm to embrace further the obvious joys of art. Being located at different places each day enhanced our live appreciation of the varied subjects and colours. Wide ranging materials were provided and clearly explained. Our tutor Jo was not only most informative but extremely encouraging and inspirational, particularly for the beginner amongst us. Margie and Andrew are very thoughtful and attentive hosts.”

“Having just completed the 6 day painting course on Skopelos , I feel excited and inspired to keep drawing and painting. It would have to be one of the most picturesque places in Greece, offering such a variety of subject matter. Our teacher was very informative and patient, demonstrating wonderful techniques and seriously working wonders with us all. I would highly recommend Skopelos Art classes as great value, to anyone seeking a relaxing and wonderfully different holiday, giving you the opportunity to grow artistically, while having fun.”

"I signed myself and my husband Peter up for the Skopelos Art workshop. 'The only thing I've ever painted is houses!' was Peter's initial response to my exciting news. Jo Tyson was our delightful and experienced teacher for the six-day workshop. She skilfully and patiently dissolved our trepidation, inspired the artist within, and created an experience that was both rewarding and tremendously enjoyable … for both of us. Our paintings surprised and delighted us. Thank you Jo, Margie and Andrew for creating such a fantastic experience."
